Orders can be done over the phone, through email or through fax. Please don't hesitate to get in touch with us if you have any questions or concerns regarding your media project. Below is a comprehensive checklist to help you with your order.

BELLWETHER PRODUCTION CHECKLIST

CRITICAL NOTES
(PLEASE READ THESE NOTES!)
1. Make sure we have provided you with a quotation for your job, based on the specifications you have decided upon. While our web page and email price lists are comprehensive, there is always the chance that something may be overlooked (or that prices have changed since you last inquired about pricing). We want to be sure that there are no surprise costs that show up on your final invoice.

2. We are prepared to provide you with free UPC codes for your media project, upon request.

3. When preparing for prepress, make certain that you have received appropriate template files and/or dimensional specifications from us. Make sure to follow the instructions included within our templates to the letter. Most templates are available on our site here.

4. Our prepress route is "direct-to-plate". This provides for the highest quality printing (where both misregistration and dot-gain are minimized), best price, and quickest turnaround. The one downside to the direct-to-plate prepress route is the accuracy of the color proof (that you see and approve before the job is printed). If receiving a color accurate proof is essential to you, please discuss other options with us. Always feel free to give us a call to more thoroughly discuss your options.

5. We accept most if not all master formats for replication. For CD manufacturing, the most common masters we experience are CDRs, dats, 1630s and exabyte (16mm) cartridges.

6. For CD projects, be sure to draw our attention to any 'hidden' tracks that may occur on your master, but are not listed on your artwork. If there are hidden tracks that we are not aware of, then the plant will most likely flag your master (causing unwanted delays in the manufacturing process). This detail is especially important for time-sensitive jobs.

7. For CD projects, you must bring to our attention if your CD is set up to be an "enhanced" or "hybrid" CD (containing both audio information and multimedia or software information.) If there is additional non-audio information on the CD-master and the plant is unaware of it, there is a real danger that this information will be "stripped"/ignored during manufacturing and not end up on the finished project. Please call or write if you are unsure whether your master is "enhanced" or not.

8. Please thoroughly read and review Bellwether Manufacturing's Terms and Conditions before placing your order.

PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS

Unless other arrangements have been made, we typically require payment in full (reflecting any possible overrun) at the outset of the job. You can pay by check or money order, which can be sent in with your media master to the address below. Or you can pay with credit card. Accordingly, you can simply call us at 812-334-2499 with your credit card information. In the event that there is less than a full overrun of CDs, you would be credited via check (or your credit card account would be credited).

If you would like us to consider any other payment arrangement, we would need a credit application filled out (available on the home page of the site under the "forms" pulldown menu). Most likely, we would then follow up with you to discuss your credit references and may require you to sign additional personal guaranties. This credit process typically takes a few weeks, so it may not be a realistic option for time-sensitive jobs. Please consult your estimator or customer service representative if you have any questions on this front.

PROJECT DELIVERY STEPS
1. Only email us your artwork if files are cumulatively less than 5 megabytes. Only upload your artwork to our ftp site if your files are cumulatively less than 100 megabytes. (You will have to request the ftp address from us.) If your files are greater than 5 or 100megs respectively, please send them via multiple CDRs along with your master, prepayment as check or money order (if not using credit card), your "anti-piracy compliance form" (see item 3 below) and instructions to:

Bellwether Manufacturing

2. We highly recommend you notify us once the various components of your project are headed in our direction. It is very helpful to us to know the name of the project and its corresponding catalog/matrix number, if the project has one. We cannot commence with manufacturing until all the necessary components are in our hands.

3. VERY, VERY IMPORTANT:
Bellwether Manufacturing works only with vendors who are committed to industry-wide anti-piracy efforts. Accordingly, you must submit an "anti-piracy compliance form" with your media master. We can send this to you via mail, via fax or you can download a PDF of it from our site at
http://www.bellwethermfg.com/bellwether/templates/antipiracyform.pdf.

This form looks a lot scarier than it actually is. Simply put, if you own the intellectual property on the media master, state so, sign the form and list the corresponding "tracks" of audio/data/video content on appendix A. If material is licensed or "borrowed", we can easily walk you through the license-clearance process. Of course, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to call or write us.

4. Even if you have given us all the following information at one time or another, please reiterate everything within your instructions (if you have been corresponding with us via email, it may also help to include a printed copy of the emailed quote we gave you for your project). Information we need:
a. Your contact info (address, daytime phone number, email address)
b. Shipping instructions for artwork proof (if applicable). Please, include phone number along with address.
c. Shipping instructions for manufactured goods. Please includethe phone numbers for the respective addresses. If you are shipping portion(s) of the final quantity to different locations, please indicate this. If you need to ship all or part of the final product by any means other than standard freight (3-5 working days), let us know. Note that this will likely significantly increase the cost of shipping.
d. The manufacturing/printing specifications for your job. An itemized list of the final quote will suffice.
e. Any special details (such as "no shrinkwrap", "topspine labels", "sticker printing","sticker application", "enhanced CDR" etc.) should be reiterated. Again, review critical notes above.
f. Let us know, in advance, of any time constraints you might have (CD release show or upcoming tour...). It is far easier to schedule rush jobs at the beginning of production than "mid-production".
